Player/Major League Organization


Pete Naktenis; Philadelphia A's ('36), Reds ('39)

Bob Repass; Cardinals ('39), Senators ('42),- Appeared in 89 games with Washington in 1942 (3 at second base, 29 at third and 11 at shortstop)

Monk Dubiel; Yankees ('44-46), Philadelphia A's ('48), Cubs ('49),- Won 13 games in 1944, 10 in 1945; had 19 complete games and 232 innings pitching in '44; 45 career victories (including nine shutouts) and career ERA of 3.87.

Nick Koback; Pirates ('53-55)

Jose Jay; Milwaukee Braves, Reds, Atlanta Braves ('53-66),- Won 21 games in 1961 and '62 for the Reds; pitched in the '61 World Series and finished with a 1-1 record.

Moe Drabowski; Cubs, Milwaukee Braves, Reds, Orioles, Cardinals, ('56-72),-Struck out 11 and earned the decision in the Orioles' 5-2 victory over the Los Angles Dodgers in the 1965 World Series.  The losing pitcher was Don Drysdale.

Moe Morhardt; Cubs ('61-62)

Tom Shopay; Yankees ('67-69), Orioles ('71-77),-Best year was 1971 when he hit .257 for the Orioles and went 0 for 4 in the only World Series appearance in 1971 against Pittsburgh.

Gary Waslewski; Red Sox, Cardinals, Expos, Yankees, Oakland A's ('67-72),-Started Game 6 of 1967 World Series for the Red Sox against the Cardinals, in two Series' appearances, he gave up two runs, four hits and struck out seven in 8 1/3 innings.

Bill Denehy; Mets ('67), Senators ('68), Tigers ('77),-One of a few players in major league history to be involved in trade for a manager (traded with $100,000 from the Mets to Washington for manager Gil Hodges)

Skip Jutze; Cardinals, Astros, Mariners ('72-77),-Appeared in 90 games for Houston in 1973, hitting .223 with 18 RBI.

Jeff Bagwell; Houston Astros ('91-05),-Won National League Rookie of the Year in 1991, batting .288 with 10 home runs and 45 RBI; MVP and 1994 All-Star.

Rob Dibble; Cincinnati Reds (retired), now a broadcaster for Fox Sports.

Bill Spanswick; Red Sox ('64)

Bernie Williams; Yankees ('91-06),-Gold Glover winner and holds records for Yankees throughout his career. He was also a member of the 1996, 98,99 and 2000 World Series teams.
